Ballet Foundations is designed to introduce young dancers to the essential building blocks of classical ballet. Taught by Denys Nedak, this class focuses on developing proper technique from the very beginning, giving students a strong foundation they can continue to build upon as they progress through each level of training.
Dancers will work on posture, placement, turnout, coordination, musicality, ballet vocabulary, and the correct execution of foundational movements. Through consistent, age-appropriate training, students will begin developing the discipline, control, and understanding of technique needed for continued growth in classical ballet.
The goal of Ballet Foundations is not simply to learn steps, but to help each dancer understand how those steps are built correctly—creating strong habits and a solid technical foundation that will support more advanced training, including eventual preparation for pre-pointe.
Season: August–May
